The Luminous Inverlast 230ah (formerly 220ah) 12v tubular battery is truly the Toyota Hilux of battery backups for solar installations. From the 220ah NRGT to the 220ah Inverlast and now the 230ah Inverlast, Luminous has remained consistent in its top-notch quality. 

Unlike the usual tubular batteries that offer a depth of discharge (DOD) of 50% or less, Luminous offers 80% DOD. However, we highly discourage reaching this threshold for longevity. 

The Luminous Inverlast inverter battery is also very long-lasting and durable, and many installations have reached 7-years of usage and are still going strong. It is also more resilient against neglect and, many times, has bounced back to performance after going dry on distilled water for prolonged periods of time.

A popular misconception in Nigeria is that both Genus and Luminous are owned and manufactured by one company. Both brands share very similar pricing structures and are exclusively marketed in Nigeria by Simba Industries (Simba Group). However, Genus Innovation - of the multinational Kailash Group based in India, owns and manufactures Genus batteries and inverters.

The Amaze 220ah inverter battery is produced by Luminous Power Technologies, which is owned by Schneider Electric. Just like its "big uncle", many Amaze batteries have been in use for over 5 to 6 years and are still performing well.

Amaze entered the Nigerian market with the AZ2212TT (220ah) model. This model is regarded as the "old model" and "almost Luminous replica". Later on, the URSA and Optima (lowest grade) were introduced. So care should be taken not to get confused with them.
